Legislation and Petitions Division (WRV)

Interior of the Queen's Office

The Legislation and Petitions Division has three main functions. First, it submits to the Queen for signature all state documents presented by the ministries. On behalf of the Queen, it also submits documents to the Council of State. Second, it informs the Queen about petitions that are received and passes them to the appropriate ministries for consideration. And, third, it registers and keeps state documents and transfers them to the National Archives after the statutory period.
