A request for a pardon may be made only by means of a special form that can be obtained on the website of the Ministry of Justice or from legal advisers, the local public prosecutor’s office or the Information Department of the Ministry of Security and Justice. A request is dealt with by the Pardons Section of the Administrative Affairs Department of the Ministry of Security and Justice. Pardons are granted by Royal Decree.
