Interior of the Queen's Office

The Office registers and keeps original state documents. After the statutory period for keeping records has elapsed, these documents are transferred to the National Archives. For example, the documents relating to the period 1940-1975 were transferred in May 1996. As a result, important sources, such as the ‘London archives’ (1940-1945), have become available for historical research.
