1945 | The return of the Queen’s Office

After the liberation the Queen’s Office returned to 3 Korte Vijverberg, and for the first time in its history it had a woman director, Miss M.A. Tellegen. The building had just undergone a thorough restoration, so in the period just after the war no additional work needed to be done. In 1956 Dalens’s wall canvases were restored and returned to their original spot in the left front room.

Secretary office restored in 2002In the 1990s the Government Buildings Agency, which administers the property, embarked on a new restoration. This is being done gradually so the Queen’s Office can continue to use the building while the work is in progress. Both the Government Buildings Agency and the Queen’s Office are committed to adapting the building to the demands of a modern office in a responsible manner.
