Willem Bentinck
The house in which the sisters Agatha and Elisabeth van Slingelandt had been living came into the possession of the nobleman Willem Bentinck, captain of the Dutch Guards in The Hague, following his marriage to Agatha. The couple lived in the house on Korte Vijverberg with their son Adolf Carel until Agatha’s death in 1775.
It is not known if Willem Bentinck continued to live in the house in The Hague after Agatha’s death. We do know, however, that when Adolf Carel inherited the property from his father, he let it out to the Frisian nobleman and Orangist Willem August Sirtema van Grovestins.
