Johan van Schuylenburch
In 1711 Agneta de Graeff sold the house to Johan van Schuylenburch for 27,000 guilders. Van Schuylenburch sat on the board that was in charge of settling the estate of the stadholder William III. In 1719 he became alderman of Haarlem, subsequently holding a number of other leadership positions in that same city. Van Schuylenburch moved into the house with his two sons. He married his second wife Cornelia Jacoba van Kemp, with whom he had two children.
Johan van Schuylenburch took a great interest in the fine arts. His extensive art collection contained paintings by Rembrandt, Veronese, Van Dyck, Poussin and other celebrated masters.
